SOLAR DEEP CYCLE BATTERIES AND BACK-UP POWERConcorde Battery Corporation has been manufacturing its Sun Xtender® Series Sealed, Valve Regulated, AGM batteries for almost 19 years for installation in Solar Energy & Photovoltaic (PV) / Wind Systems.
Most of the early systems had been for stand-alone cyclic battery applications. Over the past 5 or 6 years, Grid-Tied solar energy systems have become more prevalent. Today a significant number of the solar energy systems employing Sun Xtender® AGM batteries are used in Battery Back-Up / Grid-Tied systems.
Many had asked for improved information to size PV / Wind Grid-Tied or Back-Up solar battery systems. In response a change was made in the specification sheet to incorporate both DEEP CYCLE (Off-Grid) and BACK-UP (grid-tied/stand-by) technical information. Included are the 1 hr., 2 hr., 4 hr., 8 hr. and 24 hr. capacity ratings to the specifications to assist in designing solar energy Back-Up Power Systems.
