SCADA systems are designed to monitor and report the status of various measurements recorded to a remote computer system. Typically, they are monitoring and reporting flow rates, pressure, temperatures, etc. If the monitored conditions exceed acceptable values the system will report the condition and either manually or automatically provide control functions, such as close a valve or start a pump and continue monitoring the system.

These systems provide safety controls for pumping stations, pipelines, wells or other functions. Since many of these sites do not have electric utility power available solar electric and the Sun Xtender batteries to provide the power required.
